All train lines between Manchester Piccadilly and Oxford Road disrupted by ‘operational incident’

UPDATE: All issues have been resolved, Transpennine Express said in a 5:45 p.m. update.

There are problems with trains this afternoon through central Manchester. An ‘operational incident’ causes disruption between Piccadilly and Oxford Road.

All lines between the two stations have been affected, Transpennine Express said. The delay is expected to last until 6.30pm. On the Transpennine Express website, several services indicate a delay of approximately two hours.

Transpennine Express tweeted: “Due to an operational incident between #ManchesterOxfordRoad and #ManchesterPiccadilly, all lines have been disrupted. Train services to and from these stations may be delayed. Disruption is expected until 6:30pm.”

A statement on the Transpennine Express website added: “We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused your journey today.”
