Billy Kametz, a voice actor for anime and video games, has died aged 35. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is unbreakable and Galo Thymos in Studio Trigger’s hit anime movie promise, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in April.

At Kametz’s GoFundMe Page led by his events agent A. Jinnie McManus, she revealed that Kametz had passed away earlier in the week on Thursday, June 9. After notifying his loved ones of his passing, McManus announced that his page will remain active until this Tuesday, June 14. All donations that still had to be used for his treatments to pay for his service, or the Colon cancer coalition

Along with the above yo-yos and promise, Kametz’s voice work includes Nicolo in Attack on Titan, Arden in Seven deadly sins, and Ferdinand in Fire Emblem: Three Houses† His most recent work includes voicing Jerram in Square Enix’s tactical RPG Triangle Strategy, released last March, and Nenji Ogata in 2020 13 sentries: Aegis Rim.

In a statement on the GFM page, McManus expressed her gratitude to everyone who was able to donate and wish Kametz their best wishes. “I hope you know how much appreciated you all were and how much strength you gave,” she wrote. Both she and Kametz, she said, were “overwhelmed” by the support fans and the voice acting community gave them and the weeks leading up to his passing. “He wanted everyone to know how much it was appreciated and thank everyone especially his fans whom he loved so much. Know that he left this world peacefully knowing how loved he is and always will be. I miss my friend terribly. But it comfort me that his legacy will be continued with his work and all the fans who are discovering even now what an extraordinary man he was.”
