Tragedy and Triumph, written by Michael Myerson, is a fascinating book about Jewish Olympians over the past 100 years, telling the tales of triumph and tragedy.
The sportsmen and women who are said to have participated in the ill-fated 1936 Berlin Olympics are recorded and their lives after that event are described. The book is full of wonderful anecdotes about the athletes and it shows the true sporting prowess of Jewish sports heroes.
The book covers 14 different sports and has been painstakingly researched by the author over many years. This is a book of human stories and goes a long way to dispel the myth that Jews are not good at sports!
Adam Kellerman, a Paralympian who has achieved great success, will officially launch the book at the Sydney Jewish Museum on Thursday 30th June at 6pm
