Lewton, a chef who founded Two Unique Caterers and Event Planners in Royal Oak decades ago, is out with “Make Your Own Party: Twenty Blueprints to MYO Party” (Scribe Publishing Company, $35.)
The book describes what you need to organize your own party. Lewton shares ideas for theme parties, menus and food options that she has learned from her 30+ years in the catering and event planning business.
You can meet the author and get a signed copy of the book ahead of its official launch on May 10. A book launch will take place on Thursdays from 6-9pm at the Historic Whiskey Factory, 1000 Maple, Detroit. The event is also a benefit for the Detroit Food Academy.
Tickets are $60 and include a signed copy of the book (valued at $35), sauntering with food and drinks based on party themes in the book, including “Game Night,” “South & West,” and “Everything Charcuterie.” There is a cash bar and craft cocktails are served.
Lewton founded Two Unique Caterers in 1991. She is a certified chef and a graduate of Schoolcraft Culinary Arts College. Lewton teaches culinary arts in metro Detroit and also works with youth at the Detroit Food Academy.
