OTTAWA – Englobe has announced it has opened a new construction inspection and materials testing lab in Ontario’s national capital.
The engineering and environmental services company is active in geotechnical advice, construction inspection and material testing, instrumentation and monitoring, and environmental engineering. It serves contractors, developers, and infrastructure owners.
Working from the new lab, Englobe’s Ottawa team will be able to perform lab testing of soils and aggregates, as well as hardened concrete, field testing on fresh concrete and field compaction testing and subsoil assessments.
Other services provided by the Ottawa lab include rebar inspections, geotechnical surveys and slope stability assessments, instrumentation and vibration monitoring, contractor construction plan preparation and geotechnical advice and peer review, legal support, and expert witness services.
The new lab is 7,300 square feet and occupies the first floor of Englobe’s new office in Ottawa. The company also operates 10 other labs in Ontario.
In 2020-2021, Englobe participated in 38 infrastructure projects that are among the 1000 largest in Canada. Projects include the renovation of the Ottawa Parliament Buildings, Toronto’s Scarborough Metro, both of Ottawa’s current LRT projects and the local improvements to Queensway.
