Firefighters in Toronto responded to a fire that “completely engulfed” a home on Saturday afternoon.
The crew fought the fire with a quick strike on the first floor of the house and worked on a move to the second floor.
The emergency occurred in Etobicoke around Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive, police said. Roads were closed while “several” emergency vehicles were on the scene.
A call for a fire with two alarms came at around 2:17 pm
In a tweet, Toronto police said the fire had spread to the house next door.

Toronto fire chief Bill Papakonstantino told Global News a resident may need care and said searches were continuing.
Toronto police said one person was “removed from the fire” and rushed to hospital.
