On June 22, 2022, Patrol Services officers charged 43-year-old William Ross with gun and drug offences.
At around 4 a.m., officers spotted a vehicle parked at a business in the 800 block of Great Northern Road. Officers conducted a traffic control. Officers approached the vehicle and the sole occupant was identified as the suspect. Officers discovered that the suspect was wanted for probation violation and he was arrested based on the warrant.
In a subsequent search, the suspect was found to be in possession of a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, a shotgun, approximately 13.95 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, approximately 3.95 grams of a substance believed to be it’s fentanyl, about 7.56 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine and several bank and identification cards that were found to be stolen. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is $4,100.

Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Possession of a firearm in the knowledge that possession is unauthorized
Carry a concealed weapon
Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
Possession of property acquired through crime x9
Failure to comply with probation order x4
Possession of firearm or ammunition in violation of a warrant x6
The suspect was held in custody pending a bail hearing and then remanded in custody with a scheduled court date of July 7, 2022.
