LMPD investigates shooting woman, suspicious device – says they are connected

An investigation is underway into the explosives disposal unit on Frankfort Avenue, and there was a shooting near St. Matthews Tuesday morning — and police say the two incidents are linked. Louisville Metro police said a woman was shot multiple times around 6:30 a.m. on the 300 block of Macon Avenue. That’s near where Lexington Road meets Shelbyville Road. She was taken to UofL hospital where she is currently in critical condition. Police said everyone involved in the shooting has been found and charged. the scene is still active. And on Frankfort Avenue, between Bayly and Hit Avenue, the explosive ordnance disposal service was called in to investigate a suspicious device and as of 10 a.m. the scene is still active.
