A Broadmeadows man was charged Wednesday morning after a chase in Broadmeadows.
Police observed a vehicle on Smiley Road about 1:20 a.m. on July 20, which was allegedly involved in the ramming of a police vehicle on July 9.
The male driver allegedly fled at high speed and was followed by police on the ground with the help of the Air Wing through the Broadmeadows and Dallas areas.
It is alleged that the driver returned to Smiley Road, discarded the vehicle and then fled in another car.
The second car was intercepted by police at about 3.25am on Widford Street, Broadmeadows, where the male driver and female passenger were arrested.
A 35-year-old Broadmeadows man has been charged with intentionally seriously exposing a police officer to risks by driving, damage to an emergency vehicle by reckless driving, assaulting a police officer, dangerous driving while being chased by police and reckless behavior endanger life.
A 31-year-old Altona woman was released pending further investigation.
