Residents and team members celebrate with a birthday cake
Submitted by Care UK
Residents of a care home in Sale enjoyed a festive day on the occasion of the second anniversary of the home.
The team at Oakfield Croft nursing home pulled out all the stops for a special birthday party, with owls and snakes joining in on the fun.
In addition to the exotic mobile zoo that brought meerkats and skunks, residents were also treated to a barbecue and had the chance to tap their feet to live music from Joe Cocks, who played songs from decades past.
The team also decorated the 50’s themed party and everyone could enjoy the festivities in the sun and a celebratory cake.
Joyce, a resident of the care home, said, “It was the best experience I’ve ever had and my favorite animal was definitely the snake.”
House manager Daniel Cole said: “It was fantastic to see the residents accompanied by a host of beautiful animals as we all celebrated the house’s momentous milestone.
“The entire team has worked hard to organize the event, and I am pleased to say that their efforts were a huge success – our birthday celebration will certainly be one to remember for years to come.
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone who makes Oakfield Croft a great place to call home and for helping to make the day extra special.
“The past two years have certainly had their challenges and I am incredibly proud of the team’s efforts over the past 24 months to keep life as pleasant as possible for residents – as they have always wanted.
“We are very excited to see what lies ahead in the next two years and beyond.”
