The Oregon Department of Revenue begins paying one-time benefits of $600 or more to more than 236,000 eligible households.
A release said this is due to action by the Oregon State Legislature, through House Bill 4157. Payments will be received by direct deposit or check by July 1.
To be eligible, households must have received the Earned Income Tax Credit on their 2020 tax return and must have resided in Oregon for the last six months of 2020. A total of nearly $142 million is expected to be distributed to more than 236,000 eligible recipients.
