A 77-year-old Pooraka man was killed Sunday morning after being involved in a car accident in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
Police were called to the intersection of Belalie Road and Montague Road at Ingle Farm after reports that a car had run off the road and crashed into a tree.
The driver of the vehicle died on the spot.
An eastbound lane of traffic on Montague Road was closed but has since reopened as SA police investigate the scene to determine the cause of the accident.
The man’s death is the 36th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year, compared to 48 in the same time last year.
Police are urging motorists to exercise caution while driving this long weekend.
