South East London: Homes decorated for Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

South East Londoners are busy decorating their homes to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee.

The boroughs have spared no expense and social media is full of fantastic images of revelers.

There’s everything from buntings, shop windows, full-fledged balloon arches to tiny handmade gnomes.

We rounded up some of the best-decorated homes in the area who can be proud that their efforts have brought us some jubilation.

  • Brentlands Drive – Dartford

Angela Kessel’s garden is completed with little gnome-like people who celebrate the anniversary at their own street party.

The little creations are made of jam jars and covered in felt, including one of Her Majesty the Queen and her guards.

She has also hung many flags in her garden.

Angela regularly adorns the front of her house during special events and raises money for the Ronald McDonald House Charity.

Vicki Wilkinson’s doorway is now a giant balloon arch, complete with Corgi and Her Majesty waving at you.

The Balloon Arch was created by a friend of hers, Stacey Adams, who owns the company Skys The Limit Balloons.

Vicki said that Stacey “really enjoys creating and being a part of people’s happiness.”

Sarah Surry has the Queen on her doorstep and colorful vintage garlands throughout the garden.

If you look closely, you’ll see a leprechaun version of the queen next to the porch and another peeking out the window.
