(CNN) — Walking from one mountain to another, suspended high above the ground with only a sprawling valley yawning below, isn’t for the faint of heart.

But thrill-seekers — and infrastructure buffs — will flock to the holiday resort of Dolní Morava in the northeast of the Czech Republic to climb the world’s longest suspension bridge.

For the past two years, the 721-meter (2,365-foot) span aptly named Sky Bridge 721 has been officially opened on May 13. The walkway promises spectacular views of the cloud-shrouded Jeseníky Mountains and an overall thrilling, if slightly terrifying, experience.

New world record

Austrian blogger Victoria Fellner visited Sky Bridge 721 earlier this week as part of a preview event and shared photos on her Instagram account.

Fellner told CNN Travel that taking her first step on the bridge left her feeling “nausea”.

But this initial fear dissipated as she admired the surrounding landscape.

“I was afraid the suspension bridge would shake a lot, but it wasn’t too bad,” Fellner said. “The view is really impressive and through the trellis you can even see the forest below! Luckily I’m not afraid of heights.”

Sky Bridge 721, suspended from cables, hangs 95 meters above the valley floor and extends between 1,110 and 1,116 meters above sea level. The bridge is accessible by funicular and crossing is a one-way street. Leaving the walkway on the other side, visitors can make their way along a paved forest trail with signs describing Czech history. There is also an accompanying virtual reality phone game.

The 1.2m wide Sky Bridge is accessible to children of all ages and heights, but is not suitable for those with pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Travelers currently need to pre-book Sky Bridge 721 tickets on the Dolní Morava website, with adult prices starting at 350 Czech Koruna (about $14.60).

Located on the Czech border with Poland, Dolní Morava is a vacation spot with ski slopes, an alpine roller coaster that should be the second longest in Europe, a mountaintop restaurant and an attraction called Sky Walk – a curved structure with a wooden walkway and slide at 1116 meters above sea level.

The Czech Sky Bridge is 154 meters longer than the current Guinness World Record holder suspension pedestrian bridge, the Baglung Parbat Footbridge in Gandaki Province, Nepal.

Sky Bridge 721 is about 2.5 hours drive from the Czech capital Prague.
