Tattoos Meet Cocktails in historic Gastown brings two artistic worlds together for an interactive evening

For those whose biggest idols include Norman Keith Collins, Sailor Jerry, and the ghost of Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins, it sounds like the world’s greatest dream is coming true. Inked hands and rum bottles if you couldn’t be more excited about an evening of drinks and live tattoos in Vancouver’s historic Gastown.

At Tattoos Meet Cocktails, mixologists and tattooists will settle in Le Papillon Studio at 369 Carrall Street. The event kicks off with a short documentary about the evening’s ink artists and four stations where attendees can enjoy cutting-edge cocktails while watching people in front of them. be tattooed.

Drinks reflect the work of four Le Papillon Studio that night tattoo artists: Gale, Marine, Shae and Louis Tibo. Co-hosting the evening is Cocktail Connoisseur, the Vancouver-based “ghost bar” that is building a reputation for out-of-the-box pop-up events. Mixologists Jean Laven and Kam Tabarraee will create four molecular cocktails inspired by the stories and stylistic approaches of each of the artists.

Le Papillon calls itself a space designed to provide a “platform that supports our family of creatives in their path and shows the community around us our perspective on tattooing and art in general.”

Tattoos Meet Cocktails has two sessions on May 21, one at 5:00 PM and one at 8:00 PM. Look here for more info.

Be warned that it is highly unlikely that tattoos will eventually bring the work of Norman Keith Collins to mind. And that it is equally unlikely that the cocktails in question will be built around Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum.

Finally, considering that the people who work together for Tattoos Meet Cocktails are known for their good taste, here’s what to expect….

…in contrast to this. Which Sailor Jerry would no doubt find hysterically funny, once he got over his screaming contempt.
