In the real estate world, the key, as they say, is ‘location, location, location’.

This small room can put that saying to the test. The small den is located in downtown Vancouver, in a building connected to the Granville SkyTrain station.

On top of the location there is the price. At $750 a month, rent is definitely cheaper than most in Vancouver, especially in a neighborhood not known for being affordable.

But in a city like Vancouver, when the rent is low and the location popular, something else has to be done. In this case it is space.

A Craigslist ad posted this week shows the tiny room with no windows.

Although the apartment is of normal size, a single bed barely fits in the room. A narrow bedside table and a small table stand in an alcove that is barely larger. The tenant also gets a closet, but it doesn’t seem to be in the room.

The space is in an apartment with two other roommates and a dog.

“The study is a bit small, but the apartment is big!” writes the housemate who placed the ad.

It is a house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a large terrace, a kitchen and a shared living space.

“So everyone has their own place! Nobody lives in the living room like I know in other places hahaha”, the future roommate remarks.
