Woman dead in eastern Melbourne after reports of assault on Croydon North

A woman has died and a man is helping police with their investigation following reports of an attack in Melbourne’s far east.

Police said emergency services were called to the Patrick Avenue address in Croydon North around 10:15 p.m. Saturday.

“Paramedics have been working on a woman who was found seriously injured,” said a police spokesman.

“Unfortunately, the woman – who has yet to be formally identified – died at the scene.”

Homicide detectives are investigating the death.

A 40-year-old man from Croydon North helps police with their investigation.
