June 23, 2022 – XR Immersive Tech Inc. (Immersive Tech), a provider of immersive virtual reality (VR) experiences, recently announced that the company’s UNCONTAINED Hyper-Immersive VR attraction has officially launched with its first customer, in Vancouver, Canada.

UNCONTAINED will be available for the first time to guests in the popular from July 7, 2022 Playland Amusement Park, as well as the biggest ticketing event in BC, the annual PNE Fair in Vancouver.

Immersive Tech stated that the partnership with Playland aims to provide a first look at UNCONTAINED and its flagship experience: ‘Deep Signal’. Playland guests can enjoy hyper-immersive features including ambient heat and cold effects, haptic feedback on consoles, rumble/motion floors and devices, as well as a first-ever spatial XR audio system that allows them to truly participate in the experience.

According to the company, the full game experience, in terms of technical and gameplay senses, is unique and ideal to be deployed anywhere with the equivalent of 5 parking spaces, be it a stand-alone outdoor or indoor application.

“We look forward to hosting the debut of XR Immersive Tech’s UNCONTAINED attraction at Playland and the Fair this summer,” said PNE spokesperson Laura Ballance. “We are confident that the next-generation technology and experience will be very well received by our guests.”

Playland Amusement Park and the PNE Fair attract visitors of all ages from across British Columbia and around the world. Founded in 1910, the PNE sits on 114 acres of land that includes Canada’s oldest amusement park, Playland, along with one of the world’s best heritage roller coasters, the Playland Wooden Coaster.

During the season from June to September, the Playland Amusement Park receives more than 300,000 guests each year and on average more than 3 million visitors visit Hastings Park throughout the year.

Immersive Tech CEO, Tim Bieber, added: “As a Vancouver homegrown company, we see the iconic Playland Amusement Park as a perfect fit for us. Not only is it one of Canada’s oldest and largest theme parks, it’s also a place where we expect a lot of feedback from our own extended community. I am excited that UNCONTAINED can meet the world in a place so dear to my heart. Likewise, I am extremely proud of our team, many of whom call Vancouver home.”

UNCONTAINED will be available to players throughout the summer, and Immersive Tech added that more event details will be provided as the launch date approaches. Units are now shipping for venues interested in UNCONTAINED for their own location-based entertainment offerings.
